Altai Meadows keeps 180 laying hens in two 10′ x 20′ chicken coops. One of the coops was being used as a hunting shack but was moved and repaired in 2010 to serve as the first chicken coop. In 2017 a new coop was built using storm damaged oak trees milled to lumber right here on the farm. Our coops are set along a 5 acre lake that provides protection from predators. Water is available from the lake or from automatic waterers available in the coops. Our hens are fed a non-GMO ration provided by NEMO Feed in Baring Missouri. Click here to view the feed tag.
